Enabling Middle-Click with Windows 8 on Lenovo ThinkPad X230
To restore classic middle-click functionality on the Lenovo ThinkPad X230 TrackPoint under Windows 8: Open regedit and navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Synaptics\SynTPEnh\UltraNavPS2 (Note: ensure you are in HKEY_CURRENT_USER, not HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE). Change the value of TrackPointMode from 00001214 to DWORD 00002214. Open Windows Mouse Properties, switch to the UltraNav tab, disable the TrackPoint by clearing its checkbox, and click Apply.
